1.29
11 October 2026

- On Light, the size lock now works from your iPhone, Siri, ChatGPT and Claude. Plus switches every lock, and Apple Watch needs Plus.
- A new welcome tour sets up your locks in a few steps and shows which ones are part of Plus.
- Plus keeps working offline for 30 days. After that the menu shows a reminder, and Plus stays on for 14 more days.
- Purchases are now checked with signed answers from the Still Dock server, tied to this Mac.
Requires macOS 13 or later. Apple silicon. Signed with a Developer ID, notarized by Apple.
1.28.2

- Plus now offers four plans: Annual paid now at the best price, Annual with a 7-day trial, Lifetime, and Monthly.
- Help has a new item, Use with ChatGPT, Claude and Cursor…, which opens a step by step setup guide.
Requires macOS 13 or later. Apple silicon. Signed with a Developer ID, notarized by Apple.
1.28.1
5 October 2026
- ChatGPT, Codex and Cursor now reach your Mac as soon as Still Dock opens. Before, they could say no Mac was connected until you opened the menu.

1.28
3 October 2026
- A short welcome tour appears the first time you open Still Dock.
- Rate and Share Still Dock now sit with What's New, Visit Website, Report a Bug and Request a Feature, in the menu, the Help menu and the main window.
- Sign in with Apple joins the email code, on the Mac and on iPhone.

Requires macOS 13 or later. Apple silicon. Signed with a Developer ID, notarized by Apple.
1.27
27 September 2026
- You can now report a bug or request a feature from inside Still Dock, from the Help menu or the main window.
- Still Dock shows what is new after each update, from the same menu.
- Still Dock now also speaks Traditional Chinese, Dutch, Hindi, Thai, Vietnamese and Hebrew, laid out right to left in Hebrew.
- Buttons such as Purchase Still Dock and Back Up to iCloud stay readable while the window is in the background.
Requires macOS 13 or later. Apple silicon. Signed with a Developer ID, notarized by Apple.
1.26
19 September 2026
- If you require Touch ID to unlock, switching off Stop ⌘Q quitting now asks for it too, like every Dock lock.
- Confirm before ⌘W closes and Stop ⌘Tab switching apps now say On only while they are really working. They run on the same switch as Stop ⌘Q quitting, so while that was off they could say On and do nothing.
- Still Dock now keeps a small record of which locks are on in your own iCloud account, for the Still Dock app for iPhone and Apple Watch. Nothing is sent to us.
Requires macOS 13 or later. Apple silicon. Signed with a Developer ID, notarized by Apple.
1.25
14 September 2026
- The Stop ⌘Q quitting, Confirm before ⌘W closes and Stop ⌘Tab switching apps menu items now say On or Off in their names, so you can see at a glance whether each one is working.
Requires macOS 13 or later. Apple silicon. Signed with a Developer ID, notarized by Apple.
1.24
14 September 2026
- The Stop ⌘Q quitting menu no longer says your apps are protected while the protection is switched off. The menu now says to turn protection on first.
Requires macOS 13 or later. Apple silicon. Signed with a Developer ID, notarized by Apple.
1.23
13 September 2026
- The Text Size setting now changes the main window as well as the menu. At Large and Larger the window grows so every lock's name and description still fits, and the buttons grow with the text.
- In French, the sentence at the bottom of the main window about reopening it used the wrong pronoun. It is corrected.
Requires macOS 13 or later. Apple silicon. Signed with a Developer ID, notarized by Apple.
1.22
13 September 2026
- Signing out now signs you out on Still Dock's server too, so a copy of your sign-in left in a backup or on a Mac you no longer have stops working.
- Your sign-in now belongs to the Mac it was made on.
- If you require Touch ID to unlock, quitting Still Dock while a lock is on now asks for it, and so does turning off Keep Dock on one display. Logging out, restarting and shutting down are never held up.
- The files Still Dock keeps on your Mac, including your sign-in, can now be read only by your own user account.
- Paid features now stop when a trial ends even if your Mac cannot reach Still Dock, and on a new install that has never reached it after three days. A purchase keeps working offline, as before.
- The checkout window opens only web links in your browser, and nothing else.
- A permanent lock profile signed by Still Dock is now checked to be exactly the one you asked for before it is saved.
- Updates are now checked for Still Dock's signature before they are unpacked, not after.
Requires macOS 13 or later. Apple silicon. Signed with a Developer ID, notarized by Apple.
1.21
13 September 2026
- If Still Dock was asked to quit while one of its dialogs was open, it waited until the dialog closed, and did not release its locks until then. It now quits straight away and always releases them.
- Nothing else about the app has changed since 1.20.
Requires macOS 13 or later. Apple silicon. Signed with a Developer ID, notarized by Apple.
1.20
13 September 2026
- The Touch ID prompt now asks in your language. It used to finish its sentence in English whatever your Mac was set to.
- Descriptions in the desktop widget were cut off in German, Italian, French, Spanish and Portuguese. They wrap onto a second line now.
- A handful of words in the menus were still English in every language, among them Dark, Never, Off and the Large and Larger text sizes. They are translated now.
- The window opened with a highlight ring around its first switch, as if it had been chosen with the keyboard. The ring now appears only when you use Full Keyboard Access.
- Removing a permanent lock told you to select a profile by a name that no profile has. It now says to select each profile whose name begins with Still Dock.
Requires macOS 13 or later. Apple silicon. Signed with a Developer ID, notarized by Apple.
1.19
13 September 2026
- Still Dock now speaks nine languages: Spanish (Spain and Latin America), French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Simplified Chinese, Japanese and Korean. It follows whatever language your Mac is set to, and falls back to English for anything it does not have. The menu, the window, the alerts, the Control Center tiles and the widget are all translated.
- The widget and the four Control Center tiles were English no matter what your Mac was set to, because they are a separate part of the app and nothing had ever included them. They are translated now.
- Undo and Redo would have stopped working in every language but English. The Edit menu was asking the system for an action by name, and the name was being translated along with everything else.
- The app and the emails said “licence” while the website said “license”. Everything says “license” now.
- Wording fixes throughout: a few sentences were assembled from pieces in a way that only reads correctly in English, and have been rewritten as whole sentences.
Requires macOS 13 or later. Apple silicon. Signed with a Developer ID, notarized by Apple.
1.18
12 September 2026
- The Text Size control in the menu is now announced properly by VoiceOver and can be reached by Voice Control. It was a menu row with its own custom view, which meant it had no name to announce: a screen reader found it and could only say “menu item”.
- Three colors were too faint to read against the background behind them and have been corrected, including white text on the main button in dark mode. The app now measures its own palette on every build and no longer trusts a number written down once.
- Nothing else about the app has changed since 1.17.
Requires macOS 13 or later. Apple silicon. Signed with a Developer ID, notarized by Apple.
1.17
10 September 2026
- Update checks now record what the update feed offered and whether this Mac qualifies for it. Nothing changes on screen. A question about a missing update can now be answered from the log.
- Nothing else about the app has changed since 1.16.
Requires macOS 13 or later. Apple silicon. Signed with a Developer ID, notarized by Apple.
1.16
8 September 2026
- Still Dock is now built for Apple silicon only. Apple has stopped shipping macOS for Intel, and the Intel version was never tested on real hardware, so we dropped the Intel version.
- Nothing else about the app has changed since 1.15.
Requires macOS 13 or later. Apple silicon. Signed with a Developer ID, notarized by Apple.
1.15
1 September 2026
- The widget, the Control Center toggles and profile keyboard shortcuts now tell you when something needs a plan. They were the last places that refused without saying why.
Requires macOS 13 or later. Universal: Apple silicon and Intel. Signed with a Developer ID, notarized by Apple.
1.14
1 September 2026
- Every paid feature now says so when you press it. The quit, close and app switching guards, profiles, iCloud backup and the permanent lock all sat behind rows that were grayed out once a trial ended, so the app looked broken with no clue how to fix it.
- Fixed: several of those could still be switched on after a trial ended. Turning any of them off needs no Plus, and the size lock is part of Light.
Requires macOS 13 or later. Universal: Apple silicon and Intel. Signed with a Developer ID, notarized by Apple.
1.13
1 September 2026
- Fixed: locking your Dock permanently could be used without a plan. It writes a configuration profile that survives reinstalling the app, and it was the one paid feature that never checked. Removing a permanent lock still needs no plan. Nobody should be left with a Dock they cannot unlock.
- Fixed: paid locks were switched back on at every launch, before the app had worked out what you had paid for. In most cases they were released again a moment later. If the app could not reach us and had nothing saved, they stayed on.
Requires macOS 13 or later. Universal: Apple silicon and Intel. Signed with a Developer ID, notarized by Apple.
1.12
1 September 2026
- Fixed: Still Dock would not open on an Intel Mac, or on any Mac below macOS 26, even though it has always been sold as working on macOS 13 and later. The app was being built for one processor and one macOS version by mistake. It is now built for Apple silicon and Intel, and runs on macOS 13 and later as described.
Requires macOS 13 or later. Universal: Apple silicon and Intel. Signed with a Developer ID, notarized by Apple.
1.11
1 September 2026
- Fixed: the widget and Control Center controls were missing from 1.10. The 1.10 download was built without them, so updating removed the widget from Notification Center and the desktop. Install this and it comes back. Nothing else changed.
Requires macOS 13 or later. Signed with a Developer ID, notarized by Apple.
1.10
1 September 2026
- Locking your Dock's size is now part of Light. No payment, no account, no trial to run out. The size lock is the one everybody needs: one brush of the divider and every icon is the wrong size.
- Everything else needs a plan once the 7 day trial ends: the position, hide and show and contents locks, keeping the Dock on one display, the ⌘Q, ⌘W and ⌘Tab guards, profiles, and iCloud backup.
- Pressing a lock you have not paid for now says so and offers a way to fix it. A lock you already have on can always be turned off.
- Fixed: several paid features kept working after a trial ended. The ⌘Q, ⌘W and ⌘Tab guards carried on indefinitely and could be switched on again, and a profile's keyboard shortcut re-armed every lock. If you were relying on those without a plan, they now stop.
Requires macOS 13 or later. Signed with a Developer ID, notarized by Apple.
1.9
31 August 2026
- Fixed: the desktop widget was invisible. It drew as an empty block while you were working in any app. macOS removes a widget's background on the desktop unless the widget says not to, and this one did not say so, which left dark text on nothing.
- Where to put it. Desktop widgets sit behind your windows, so you only see them on the desktop. To keep Still Dock in view while you work, add it to Notification Center: click the date in your menu bar, scroll to the bottom, and choose Edit Widgets.
Requires macOS 13 or later. Signed with a Developer ID, notarized by Apple.
1.8
30 August 2026
- Fixed: 1.7 switched iCloud backup off. Adding the widget to the app accidentally cleared the permissions the app needs to reach iCloud, so backing up and restoring your Dock stopped working on that version. Nothing was lost, and updating puts it right. Sorry about that.
Requires macOS 13 or later. Signed with a Developer ID, notarized by Apple.
1.7
30 August 2026
- A Still Dock widget for your desktop. The same four locks and the same switches as the app window, in three sizes. Turn a lock on or off without opening anything. Right-click the desktop, choose Edit Widgets, and search for Still Dock.
- Still Dock is in Control Center too. Three toggles for size, position and hide/show, alongside Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
- Turning a lock ON from either place is instant. Turning one OFF still asks for Touch ID if you have that switched on, exactly as it does in the app.
The widget and the Control Center toggles need macOS 15 or later. Everything else in Still Dock still works on macOS 13 and up.
Requires macOS 13 or later. Signed with a Developer ID, notarized by Apple.
1.6
24 August 2026
- Stop ⌘Tab switching apps. A new switch in the menu bar, next to the ⌘Q and ⌘W guards. Turn the app switcher off everywhere, or only in the apps you name. macOS itself has no setting for this anywhere.
- Every blocked press tells you how to turn it back on, so the keyboard can never leave you stuck.
⌘Tab is in the direct download only. The Mac App Store version cannot offer it: blocking a key macOS handles itself needs Accessibility permission, and Apple does not allow that in a sandboxed app. Everything else in Still Dock is the same in both.
Requires macOS 13 or later. Signed with a Developer ID, notarized by Apple.
1.5
21 August 2026
- The ⌘W prompt now says what it will actually close. It said "Close this Safari window?" when Safari's ⌘W closes a tab.
- Every dialog, checkbox and control now uses Still Dock's own color whichever accent you have set in System Settings.
- Smaller wording fixes throughout the menu and the prompts.
Requires macOS 13 or later. Signed with a Developer ID, notarized by Apple.
1.4
21 August 2026
- Still Dock has been redesigned. A warmer, quieter palette, a proper heading face, and every lock on its own card. Same app, same job, much easier to read at a glance.
- The purchase screen got the same treatment.
- Fixed: the button on the sign in screen did not change its label after the code was sent.
Requires macOS 13 or later. Signed with a Developer ID, notarized by Apple.
1.3
18 August 2026
- Text Size changes the menu while you are looking at it. Pick a size and the menu resizes where it stands, so you see your pick at once.
- Fixed: relaunching could ask a paying customer to purchase the app they already owned.
Requires macOS 13 or later. Signed with a Developer ID, notarized by Apple.
1.2
17 August 2026
- No more license keys. Sign in with the email address you purchased with and Still Dock unlocks. One purchase covers this version and the Mac App Store one.
- Fixed: the pointer could get stuck for several seconds near the Dock. Still Dock now only steps in during an actual resize drag, so nothing happens as you simply move past.
- Your Macs. See every Mac using your purchase, how many of the five are in use, and take one off the list yourself.
- Still Dock says when it is holding the pointer back.
- Text Size. Small, Standard, Large or Larger for the menu bar menu.
- Fixed: relaunching could ask a paying customer to purchase the app they already owned.
Requires macOS 13 or later. Signed with a Developer ID, notarized by Apple.
1.1
5 August 2026, updated 12 August 2026
- Updates install themselves. No more downloading a disk image by hand.
- Light, Dark, or match your Mac.
- Your locks come back after a restart. They used to be forgotten when Still Dock quit.
- The permanent lock installs one profile per lock, so you can undo just the one you changed your mind about.
- The version is shown in the menu, so support is far easier.
- Manage Subscription. Cancel, restart, change your card or download an invoice from the menu bar. Before this, changing a plan meant emailing us.
- Unlock Everything is grayed out when nothing is locked, so it no longer looks like it has stopped responding.
- Tidier menu, with license actions grouped together.
Requires macOS 13 or later. Signed with a Developer ID, notarized by Apple.
1.0
3 August 2026
The first release.
- Four locks. Size, position, hide & show, and Dock contents. Each works on its own, and every one is reversible.
- Keep the Dock on one display. Pick a monitor and it stays there.
- Touch ID to unlock. On a shared Mac, only you can turn the locks off.
- iCloud backup. Back up your Dock, including size, position, apps, folders and stacks, and restore it onto another Mac.
- Profiles and hotkeys. Save a Dock and switch to it with a keystroke.
- Permanent lock. An optional configuration profile that survives Terminal, a restart, and even deleting Still Dock.
- Menu bar or window. Close the window and it keeps running in the menu bar, without cluttering your Dock.
Requires macOS 13 or later. Signed with a Developer ID, notarized by Apple.
Updating
Still Dock checks for new versions once a day and tells you when one is ready. You can also check
any time from the menu bar item. The Mac App Store version updates itself through the App Store.
